PNNL Presentation on SSL Troffers
Naomi Miller from the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory will present on:

LED Recessed Troffers: Kits, tubes and fixtures

LEDs are now competing with the ubiquitous 2×2 and 2×4 fluorescent troffer for offices and classrooms. They offer energy savings, long life, improved color, and easy dimming in response to daylight or user choice or application need. The DOE CALiPER Program recently purchased and photometered 24 pairs of these luminaires, mostly dedicated LED luminaires, but also some benchmark fluorescent troffers, and troffers retrofitted with LED kits or tubes. 18 observers from the specification community were invited to provide feedback on the product performance, and to help develop criteria for evaluating LED ambient lighting products in the future. The final CALiPER report will include their responses on glare, flicker, dimming, color, and reflected glare, among other criteria; and LED product manufacturers will want to hear the comments that may shape the future market for these luminaires.
